Distributed generation may become a good perspective for the district

Viacheslav Sheianov, the CEO of Distributed Generating Company, LLC has introduced the Distributed Generation Project to Igor Koshin, the Governor of Nenets Autonomous Discrict. DGC is studying the possibility of building FlexEnergy and DRESSER-RAND micro-turbine-based power parks. The Deputy Governor on energy matters Aleksey Kaidalov has also participated in a working meeting with potential investors.

Distributed Generating Company, LLC in cooperation with its foreign partners, is implementing large-scale projects on the territory of Russian Federation in the sphere of distributed generation, allowing the consumers to get access to power and heat without any capital expenditures.

The company invests its own funds in such projects and generates return through charging the customers for the power and heat supplied.

DGC partners with US and Norwegian energy gensets manufacturers for project implementation.

Gas-turbine power units are supplied with cogeneration module (heat cascading). Facilities get commissioned within a short period of time – normally, no more than one year.

Igor Koshin believes that distributed generation, in light of the region’s de-facto autonomous power generation, may become a promising direction.

The Governor instructed his deputy to take a close look at the project presented, and to find out its benefits and drawbacks, and, following that, to explore the fields, where distributed generation and power/heat can be utilised.

It is not rulled out that several settlements in the lower reaches of the Pechora river, where natural gas supply will shortly appear in accordance to JSC “Gazprom” program, can become a pilot project.

The ability of the gensets to work on liquefied gas is also attractive for the district. It could become an alternative to the use of coal, and solve the problem of power and heat supply in large remote settlements in the west of the district. The company’s representatives are to discuss all these questions with the specialists of the Nenets Autonomous District administration at the earliest opportunity.
